This piece was a turning point in my understanding of design. I learned the value that manipulating typography adds to a piece, adding visual interest and depth. I discovered the power of being able to make changes, stylistic choices, and the power of composition planning (aka, thumbnails) through this piece, and I am proud of the intricacy that resulted.
The task with this assignment was to take a Shakespearean play, mine being "As You Like It," and create a poster that prioritized headline hierarchy and type design through manipulation. I was tasked with writing a creative headline based on the play's plot and utilizing illustration only in support of the type - no decorative plants here.
